Day 97

Oddawonderers,

First let's clear something up -- After over three months of being on this mind altering journey, certain things have be gun to transpire. As an example, our relationship with clocks and calendars have become a bit foggy. Time, day of week and date? Who knows? So.....
The Picnic/Potluck will be on Saturday JULY 31st (not June Rodney you moron)
Location and time TBA.

Day 95 (or 96 or 99????): Off we went with the big "W" on Clark GPS's monitor. Yep we headed due West (well more NW) and out of Arkansas. It was with somewhat heavy hearts we had to admit that we are actually on the last legs of our adventure. We are a bit tired but not tired of exploring what might be down the road.

First in the small town of Anderson, MO we came upon a building covered in old signage. Not sure if the place is a store or a collection; Sunday often limits access. It presented some fun photo opportunities.

In keeping with the ideal of following accidental attractions; we started seeing signs for "Big Brutus" -- the largest electric shovel in the world. Amazingly this was already on our list but kind of omitted or forgotten. We call this big earth mover...... big. It truly is humongous. It did not lure us into parting with the required $16 for an up close view. Yawn, or should I say really big yawn. Susan used the restroom, no charge, and made it worth the trek.

The main goal was to find "Dinosaur Not So National Park" by Robert Dorris in Erie Kansas. Our internet info was sparse and even one query of a local proved ineffective. Finally we found a local Sheriff and he guided us with remarkable accuracy to the yard of one of those almost cliche Kansas farmhouses. The yard was embellished with things not commonly found on any farm. There must have been 25-30 critters ranging in size from small lizards in the bushes to a full sized brontosaurus. Mr. Dorris apparently has studied his large reptiles well and knows how to use a welder. The sculptures were pretty cool but alas our hope was to meet the artist. Instead we were greeted by two friendly felines. One kitty was a total affection junky and shadowed our steps.

Blissfully lost and date clueless,

Rodney & Susan
